Somali Truth and Reconciliation Commission
Peace in Somalia and Babylone shall not rise again.
I believe that true and memory are very important for the reconciliation of every nation, in the concept of people, that experienced a long time civil war, apartheid, slavery or any other similar situations and wants to bring it to end and avoid in the future to repeat the same bad error.
That's why Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu formulated and created the South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission after the apartheid.
Since Somali people are facing the most horrible and longest African civil war, forgotten by the international community and nowadays seems Somalis, wherever they live, are exhausted of the clanism and killing one another, probably it's time to gather all memories for the future generations so that they know how bad is the civil war.
We all know that there're a lot of clan parties in Somalia, every one of whom has some "S", for Somali, just to appear like Somali... (SSDF, SMN, SPM, SNF, USC, and very more).
We as well know that these clan parties were fighting each other, non because some were for Somalis and some not, but for the single interest of the warlords without regard to all Somali people, even of the same clan.
I don't want Somali people think in the future that these were Somali patriotic parties, when they are mercenaries.
It's time to create The Somali Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
The mandate of the commission could be to bear witness to, record and in some cases grant amnesty to the perpetrators of crimes relating to human rights violations, reparation and rehabilitation.
As you know it's not easy cause of the weakness of the situation in Somalia and some times can add another problems and fuel on the fire, but we must star from one point.
Please add to this blog every abuse or crime you know perpetrated during the civil war, from 1979 till the actual situation and Ethiopean presence in Somalia.
